Sporting Opportunities

At Westbrook we aim to provide a wide range of sporting opportunities for all students.

There are a variety of codes our children can participate in including rugby, hockey, netball, flippaball, gymnastics and miniball. Throughout the year we encourage our students to take up sporting challenges such as the Tough Guy and Gal, RATS Duathlon or Mini Marathon. We have swimming lessons for all year groups and hold an annual school cross country and have athletics events for students from Year 2-6.

We make the most of opportunities for coaches to come in to give our students taster sessions in a variety of codes e.g. badminton, football and cricket. Some of our children go on to represent the school at regional events such as the Winter Field Day or CBOP sports. Our staff have been fortunate enough to have the support of Amy McMahon, Healthy Active Learning Advisor, from Sport NZ Sport BOP, who has guided us in promoting health and physical education within the school.
