Text Box: Meeting Feedback
Thank you to the 70 plus parents who responded to my questionnaire about our “Meet and Eat” interview format. The overwhelming response has been positive with some excellent feedback on how we can further improve the meeting format.

“Inside Out/Backwards Day”

This Friday 12 March Westbrook School is having and “Inside Out/Backwards Day” to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation.  Children and staff who want to come along to school wearing their clothes inside out or backwards, need to bring along a gold coin donation.  We are also selling Cancer Society bead bracelets at the school office for $5.

Text Box: Gala
26 March is fast approaching. You will have received a “Gala Newsletter” last week reminding you of this most exciting upcoming event and requesting your support.
One of the big changes this year is that we will be selling tickets for the purchase of food, raffles, games etc. Books of tickets will be available to purchase from the school prior to the gala and from a number of sites on the night of the gala.
Text Box: Athletics
Our senior students have just completed two days of competition at our 2010 Athletics Champs.
The children competed in a variety of track and field events.
Many thanks to Jules McLaughlin and her organizing team for putting together an excellent programme.
The winners of each event will now represent our school at the Inter-School Athletic Champs on 23 March.
Text Box: National Standards Bus
The NZEI National Standards travelling road show visited out school today 10 March.
Several NZEI advisors and the NZ Principal Association Executive Members were available to meet parents to inform you about National Standards.

Child Cancer Foundation Appeal

 8 — 14 March

Child cancer awareness week starts on Monday 8 March and in support of Whaea Shayle and other families we will be selling the “Supporters bead bracelets.”

Each bead represents a different procedure or challenge each child faces or overcomes while having treatment.

Bracelets will go on sale next week at $5 each from the school office.

Text Box: Board of Trustees

The triennial election for School Boards of Trustees will be held in May. If you are interested in becoming a Board Member check the School Trustees Association website for further information. www.nzsta.org.nz
Anyone may stand for election to be a parent representative. You do not need to be a parent of a student enrolled at Westbrook School but you must be nominated by a person who is entitled to vote in the Board Election. (Parents and Caregivers of children who attend Westbrook School).
As voting for the BOT Election is by postal vote, unless we have your correct address, you will not receive voting papers.
